surfaces: a smooth plate and a plate with cylindrical pin arrays. Air was considered as an incompressible fluid, and a constant heat flux of 2000 W/m² was applied. Simulations were conducted for two jet Reynolds numbers (10,000 and 15,000) and two jet-to-surface distance ratios (H/D = 1 and 2). The results demonstrate that increasing the Reynolds number and reducing the jet-to-plate distance enhance both the heat transfer rate and the average Nusselt number. In all cases, the pinned surface exhibited superior performance compared to the smooth plate. The presence of pins eliminated stagnation zones and promoted flow mixing, leading to a significant improvement in heat transfer. Both numerical and experimental findings confirm the effectiveness of pin arrays in enhancing thermal performance.
